ARC FRP Discharge Rod

An FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) discharge rod, also known as a static dissipative rod or anti-static rod, is a device used to dissipate static electricity in industrial or hazardous environments.

FRP discharge rods are typically made of a conductive fiber-reinforced plastic material, such as glass fiber reinforced with a conductive polymer matrix. The conductive properties of the FRP material allow the rod to dissipate static electricity safely and effectively.

Static electricity can build up on machinery, equipment, or personnel in environments with low humidity or during operations involving the transfer of materials. FRP discharge rods are used to safely dissipate this static electricity, preventing the build-up of potentially dangerous electrostatic charges.

FRP discharge rods are typically grounded or connected to an earthing system, allowing the static electricity to be safely discharged into the ground or a designated grounding point.

Unlike metallic discharge rods, FRP discharge rods are non-sparking, making them suitable for use in hazardous environments where the presence of flammable gases, vapours, or combustible materials poses a risk of ignition from sparks.
